Contamination of gearboxes and hydraulic power packs can arise from the airborne contaminants present in the environment that the asset is working in. Such airborne contaminants include solid particles (grit or sand) or moisture. Most power pack and gearbox breathers will have limited protection (if at all) to 10 micron. Air Sentry breathers can limit contaminants to less than 2 micron entering the asset via the breather and also remove moisture.
