Why Contamination Control?

Contamination of oils usually consists of one or more of the following;

  • Different types mixed together
  • Solid particles (dirt and wear metals)
  • Moisture

The sources of such contamination are;

  • Airborne contamination
  • Lubricant supply chain
  • Machinery wear or poor design.

There are a number of ways to prevent contamination of your oils and to ensure they are at their optimum condition when in use.

Colour coding your oils on site and labelling oil drums, filter carts and filling points for the correct oils reduces the chances of contamination.

Higher efficiency breathers can replace existing breathers to remove airbourne dirt and moisture from entering the machine’s sump/power pack.

Improved inline filtration can trap and remove greater amounts of dirt and moisture from the oil as it passes through the system.

Offline filtration units can be permanently mounted to a machine’s lubricating system or mobile offline filtration, i.e. filter cart, can be used to assist existing inline filtration to further remove contaminants.

  • Air Sentry Breathers

Air Sentry desiccant breathers have state-of-the-art features that reduce particulate and moisture contamination, keeping your equipment and fluids lasting longer. The innovative breather line integrates check valve technology in a desiccant breather and offers replacement cartridges, to significantly reduce maintenance costs. The clear view 360-degree design makes it easy to inspect the saturation of the colour-changing silica gel from a distance. The inert silica gel turns from gold to dark green to visually indicate the absorption of moisture and confirm the breather is getting the job done.

Air Sentry products cover a wide range of application requirements. The line consists of Good, Better and Best options designed to meet your specific application and duration specification.

  • Filter Elements and Media

We provide a range of Filter Elements & Media for Dynamic Filter Efficiency – if a product you require is not featured here, please contact us so we can help you to achieve the right solution to purchase.

All hydraulic and lube systems have a critical contamination tolerance level that is often defined by, but not limited to, the most sensitive system component such as servo valves or high-speed journal bearings. Filters remove the particulate contamination that enters a system or is generated by the system as it operates.

  • Hy-Pro CFU – Compact Filter Unit

We are a Hy-Pro Filtration partner.

The Compact Filter Unit (CFU) provides you with the best filtration at a size you can take anywhere. Tried and true, the CFU is the ultimate filtration system in power and mobility.

And with easy to change Spin-On elements or heavy duty MF3s, you can rest easy knowing your filtration will always exceed your expectations.

Every CFU can be specifically tailored to the job at hand, so you get the perfect solution to suit your needs. With a variety of flow rates and power options, even the ability to colour coordinate each CFU to your existing safety standards, the possibilities are endless for what you can do with the CFU.

  • Hy-Pro FC – Filter Cart

We are a Hy-Pro Filtration partner.

A fully self-contained mobile solution for bulk oil handling, fluid transfer and reservoir or gearbox conditioning. Ideal for lower viscosity hydraulic oil, lube oil and diesel fuel.

The easy to manoeuvre hand-truck style design with never-flat pneumatic tires and cast-iron gear pump with internal relief mean you get powerful filtration exactly when and where you need it.

Staged filtration allows a range of media selections for particulate and water removal to deliver ISO Codes right on target. Choose between dual MF110 cartridge (standard) or up to four Spin-On elements to tackle the most viscous fluids and achieve unimaginably low ISO Codes in a single pass.

Sample ports in the right locations arm you with access to consistently accurate system conditions which is why every FC comes standard with up- and downstream sample ports in their proper positions. And with the 35’ (11m) retractable cord reel or 35’ air hose for pneumatic models, it’s easy to see why the standard FC isn’t so standard after all.

With the optional filter bypass line, cold starts, gearbox pump-outs, and even element change outs become easier than ever. Add the optional PM-1 particle monitor for real time cleanliness data and know exactly how your filtration is performing without the need for a bottle.

The FC comes in a variety of flow rates and with electric options that range from 120 to 575 V ac, single or three phase. Or choose the pneumatic and explosion proof models to take your filtration into hazardous zones like you never thought possible. Even colour coordinate each FC to your existing safety standards. With thousands of combinations to choose from, the possibilities are endless for what you can do with the FC.

  • Hy-Pro -COF Filter Cart

Our smallest unit yet, the Compact Offline Filter is able to fit where no other filtration equipment can.

Ideal for smaller systems, or where a larger offline system wouldn’t fit, can be permanently installed or portable.

Typical applications include gear boxes, plastic injection molding machines, and vacuum pumps, to name a few. Choose between a variety of motors, wands, hoses, and portable cart options. Paired with our unique VTM elements, this unit can remove particulate, water, and varnish all with one filter.

  • Hy-Pro FPL – Dedicated Off-Line Filter Panel

We are a Hy-Pro Filtration partner.

A dedicated contamination solution for bulk oil handling, fluid transfer and reservoir or gearbox conditioning.

Enhance cleanliness by adding the Hy-Pro Filter Panel (FPL) to an existing hydraulic system and extend the life of in-line filters.

Staged filtration allows a range of media selections for particulate and water removal to deliver ISO Codes right on target. Choose between dual MF110 cartridge or up to four Spin-On elements to tackle the most viscous fluids and achieve unimaginably low ISO Codes in a single pass.

DFE rated filter elements stay true to efficiency ratings and ensure the highest level of particulate capture and retention capabilities. And with media options down to β3[C] ≥ 4000, you can be sure contamination stays exactly where you want it: out of your system.

Sample ports in the right locations arm you with access to consistently accurate system conditions which is why every FPL comes standard with upstream and downstream sample ports in their proper positions.

Precision engineered and built from heavy gauge steel; the FPL is designed to be a powerhouse addition to your equipment. To top it off, the cast iron gear pump with internal relief gives you the durability you want with the safety you need.

Whether for plastic injection moulding hydraulics with varnish issues or a wind turbine gearbox with small size restrictions, the FPL can be custom designed and built to meet the exact needs to solve your contamination problems.
